Anyone know a place where the 3in Eros is in stock? I see KC but they seem to be much more expensive than street price.

cheers

I got mine from knifeworks. They are out of stock now though. Good choice, it is quite an awesome lightweight blade.

ken onion wrote on these forums a while back that they were seriously back ordered. no one seems to have them in stock.

GPknives has them for just under $85. Though taking shipping into account the one on the 'bay for around $90 with free shipping seems best:thumbup:.

That is for the Eros 2, the smaller version. For the 3" version, they are out of stock as well.

Ah, I confused the Eros 2 with the 3" version. Who ever knew that little knife I keep clipped to my shirt pocket was so popular:D?

I bought one today from AG Russell...Paid too much, but who cares, life's too short to own ugly knifes.

I have one too for light shorts and golfiing - the only thing I dislike is the side to side play if you want to flip it easily. There isn't a lot of kinetic energy from that thin, light blade. Apart from that, it makes a very nice, super light weight carry for the right purposes! The nice thing about the large Eros is the handle and blade length for the weight. You get a good handle length and a nice blade length in a knife that you can barely feel in your hand or pocket.

Side to side? Only thing I've ever noticed about that was the blade flexing. From what I can tell, IKBS acts a little bit like pivot bushing in that you can tighten the pivot nice and snug and it'll still open buttery smooth with no play. At least, my Eros flips open nice and smooth and doesn't seem to have any play in the months I've owned it. The relatively strong detent provides all the kinetic energy necessary to propel the blade open.

If anything, a heavier blade makes it more difficult to get that blade open and necessitates a loose pivot:

But really, the detent is the heart of a flipper.

Yeah, I can't seem to find a sweet spot where I can flip it without wrist motion and no side to side. It was delivered adjusted with side to side too . . .

It was tough, but currently at that sweet spot right now. I really should loctite this thing at this point just to make sure it doesn't loosen up again. Still, the amount of side to side I had before I played with it really didn't bother me much, since its not a heavy duty knife. But why not try to fix it?

I agree - it was just a comment - for the duty this knife is going to get, no issue whatsoever. Mine is LASER sharp so it slices right through whatever I cut with it . . . I'll mess with it more - honestly, I don't carry it that much because it is so specialized in size :)

I've got the larger Eros, and no problems with blade play or centering.
It also flips open very easily, no wrist action necessary.

One problem some have experienced is that if you squeeze the handles it becomes very hard to open (this was several months ago and may have been corrected).

I never noticed it until I saw posts and tried applying more pressure and sure enough it got harder to open.
I've got pretty big hands and normally take a pretty good grip, but for some reason I never did with the Eros.....I guess its so small and light I just naturally took a looser grip.
