You know I never buy a lot of CRKT knives but every now and then I see some that are not bad at all. I've seen and worked on several of the old S2 models by CRKT and one of these days I hope to snag one for myself because I really thought all those were some fine little frame locks when I've handled them.

This one is a liner lock and although I would not buy it I think its a handsome folder. I'll be equipping this one for a low rider but its the first one I think I've handled so I thought I'd post it. This is an M16 Carson design and you know I'm sure this one is a bargain just because of the Taiwan made thing going for it but I must say the Carbon Fiber scales give it a very classy upscale look. I'm sure my scan here before my work starts on it doesn't do it justice though.

A few years ago, I started buying all of the carbon fiber M16s I could find. Those have AUS118 blades instead of AUS8, 6 or 4. The tanto models are a little smaller than the spear point ones. I just wish they had the flipper on the blade.

On the S-2s that you have worked on, was it to install your low rider clips or to repair a problem? I ask because I have a large and 2 small ones that I have never used.

Actually it was to flip the clips on them to tip up and I remember Waving one of the blades on one. I just felt for Taiwan made frame locks that they were not half bad at all. Let me know if you ever want to sell either of yours. I might want to talk to you about it.

Will do. I have been feeling the need for a small Bradley Alias but the "knife fund" is low so...I'll get back to you if I decide to part with the S-2s.

By the way, I love your fire extinguisher comment.

Hi, Steve ! I have a small CRKT framelock with a titanium handle. Model no. 7911 marked also MIrage. Designed by Hammond. I thought this had an ATS34 blade though. Dual thumblugs and tip down carry. Is this what you are looking for?I did heat annodize the handles and opened up the thumb opening area a bit as it was really hard to open because if its size. A small hand woudl be great for this.

I am not sure Dan. I'd need to see it. If it looked like the ones I posted then yeah, but with my hand size the one you have doesn't seem like the one I'd need.

Yeah, this is small, blade is only 2 1/4 " and handle is 3 1/4 ". I thought they made two sizes, a really large one and this one. Guess maybe they had a midsized model also. Sorry I couldn't help.

Finally. Took me two tries on this one to get something I could live with. This one I like! I won't show you the first attempt. Can we say miserable failure?! :D

Anyway I'm packing it up right now and printing labels to mail with and these will be on the way back to you today.

Thanks

That shape looks great. Is the color silver or were you able to get it anodized? I know sometimes the color doesn't show up right in the pictures.

Thanks

Oh boy. My bad there. I completely missed the bronze anodizing request my friend. If you like mail it back to me first class (just the clip) at my expense and I'll do that for you and ship it right out. I do apologize.

STR.

Don't worry about it. I'll see what it looks like when I get it and decide then. I'll let you know either way.

Love the work on that S-2 , did you redo the handles as well ?

ATS34 and titanium for under $100 , pretty hard to beat that. :)

I have a large and small S-2 , non serrated and customized. love 'em both.

Hey Steve. I just picked up my mail and I have to tell you, I love the new clip. I'm happy without the anodizing. Maybe if I end up sending you the Terzuola back or another knife for a low rider clip (I'm thinking of one for my Klotzli after seeing one you did on your website), I can send you the clip for anodizing then?

Thanks again for the great service.

Good enough. Glad you are happy.

Thanks
