CRKT Getting Better

I just got my M16 EDC in, and I have to say, it's above what I expected.

I bought the original M16 when they first came out, it was actually the first decent knife I ever bought.

Since then they have the LAWKS (And now AutoLawks) added to this knife. I never carried my original M16 much because of the size. The new one with 3" blade came shaving sharp. Not quite Spyderco sharp, but about as sharp as I've gotton from Benchmade recently.

For $30, I don't think you can beat one of these knives.

CRKT always suprises me with their quality. Although the materials may not be top notch, the fit and finish are always up there with $100 folders.

very diplomatically said ;)

certainly better than you'd expect at their relatively low (street) price points-
which can be pretty low, especially when models are discontinued and blown out by SMKW

I agree, CRKT has some good products. I like the little Falcon FB knives. Think I spent about $18 on it.

Sometimes, around this place, we can be blade snobs and overlook some of the good knives at the lower price points.

We forget, that the average person looks at some of us spending $200 on a knife and think we are crazy. All the while, some of us are looking at them and saying they are crazy for spending only $20. Who's the crazy one? :)

My CRKT has kinda grown on me.At first I was not that impressed but after a while realized it has some good features.I have a M-1 lightfoot model I bought off the Mac tool truck that comes to my auto repair shop.I like the guard on the blade that will keep your hand from sliding down on the blade if you have to stab something.I also like the the lock that keeps the blade from closing on your hand. The steel not bad AUS-8.the down side is its pretty dull and I have a hard time sharpening it

I too, have a Lightfoot M1 and other than the rather blunt angle tip, the rest is amazingly sharp. It's a bit hefty for riding around in my pocket all the time, but it's a solid knife that'll handle a great deal of work. It's my first CRKT (the majority of my knives are Benchmades) and I'm very happy with it. I especially like the great customer service they provide.:)
