I am planning on getting a hissatsu folder and was wondering if it can be dissassembled. The pivot has a small hole in it but I'm not sure what that's for. Any input from owners is helpful as well.

That hole is actually a torx screw. I am disassembling mine right now as I type this I was wanted to be sure before I said "Yes". You can in fact disassemble it. I have the blade and tension bar out now. I do not have a small enough torx bit to take the scales off but you can; in which at that point it's fully disassembled.

So "yes" you can :)

EDIT: The clip can be switched on either side, that's nice. Also the pivot bars are "keyed" as in flat ground on one side, they will only insert the right way. 1 large and 1 small washer, plastic.

Thanks. That's a relief to know because I like to maintain my blade. What kind of use do you get out of it? Edc or defensive?

I've yet to poke anyone with it haha -doubt I would have to as it takes a pretty rare situation in my current lifestyle to encounter that, or one that I couldn't get out of in another way. However, it is very apparent that it's capable of piercing extremely well, in fact almost effortlessly. It's long enough to puncture the good stuff if it had to which in a defensive situation is key to ending it quick. Takes a wicked edge, holds it as to be expected from AUS8.

I use mine for edc work. However I would "comfortable" carrying this as a offensive tool if the situation called for it. Overall it's a very usable yet "cool" knife
