CRKT ICHI outburst not functional!

Just got an ICHI 1070 & it is impossible to open this thing with one hand (thumb)! It's a matter of trying to get the blade out of the park position with my thumb. It's just too stiff to push up enough for the spring to kick it open. I have loosened the pivot screw to no avail & I have lubed the works with no success. That's the extent of customer service phone advice. Cust service is sending me another spring (i hope they send the allen wrench too 'cause it's tiny). BTW If I hold the knife with my other hand & push up on the stud thingie on the blade, I can get it up, but with that much force my thumb contact keeps the blade from kicking open. On the Outburst system the spring doesn't drive the blade to the locked open position, it just kicks it & if you are touching the blade or stud, the blade will stop short of the locked open position. Has anyone else here seen one of these knives work?
Thanks

i had to, stil have one, never had any problems opening\closing is
try "touching" the thumb disk without accompaning it, I just push it and take my thim away (like with all thumb studded knives) and it click open very fast, don't touch the blade when you open it

hope this helps

Mine was working bad too. I could open it, but it was tricky. So I removed the sprinng. I think AO is good with flipper only. Kershaw flipper+AO knives are really good.

the only way i can open mine is to it open with my thumb like i was flipping a coin. works well that way.

OP here, just an update. I opened my ICHI & repositioned the spring to align it in the center of the blade. It was off to one side & lubed it well. I am able to open it with a flick of my thumb about 75% of the time. The instructions describes the motion like shooting a marble & that's pretty accurate. It works for me most of the time, but I have to hold my tongue just right for it to open completely. I hope it's just a matter of practice & breaking it in, but I think hat maybe the handle may be a bit small for me to hold it securely when opening it. Anyway, I have a SlideSharp System inbound & CRKT is sending a new spring, so I should be able to do a nice tune on this thing. I am still trying to keep from poking myself with this thing when I am playing with it. It's just soooooo pointy! I think it is a keeper though.
