Maybe I should have asked this first, but I just bought an Ichi off Ebay, and I'm wondering if anyone else carries one for EDC. I wanted one somewhat smaller than my M16-13Z because it's sometimes hard to get my hand into my dress pants pocket to get my keys out. What do you guys think?
 
I won one of these in a forum giveaway some time back. Not bad to look at, and a good size and overall shape for a pants pocket. But I really don't like the blade shape - way too much point - and that would prevent me from EDCing it.
 
I like the blade shape and look a lot, but haven't bought one because I'm not too hot on the blade steel.
 
My brother has one, it's fun to play with, but I'd never carry it. Flat edge doesn't allow for any real slicing abilities. It really just seems like a small, last ditch self-defense weapon to be honest. Oh sure, you could slice something by angling the point downwards, but that tip edge will wear fast, especially with that steel (420J i think?).
 
It's a bit delicate knife and the steel is relatively soft but it makes excellent gentleman knife or a edc for light cutting tasks. I really like Koji Hara's designs and this one is good looker!
 
That shape is great for delicate cutting tasks = office environment. And it's elegant enough for corporate wear and not too big to scare the sheeple. I know it's still available but can't see it in their 2009 lineup - maybe it's now discontinued
 
Sounds like it's pretty much perfect for me. I'll be mostly using it for opening boxes and such, so the softer steel shouldn't be a big issue.

Edit: I don't see myself using it for defense. If they're that close, it's probably all over for me anyway :)

Wow, looks like you're right. They must have DC'd it in the last few days, because I could swear I was looking at it on their website this past weekend!
