Waited all day yesterday for the FedEx truck... I had ordered a Iphone 4S last week and it was being delivered yesterday.

I normally carry my cell phone in my front left pocket and it gets a bit scratched up because I also keep my change in the same pocket. I had seen a few folks with broken displays on their smart phones and I didn't want that to happen to me.

I decided to get a CRKT INOX case... and here are a few pics.

On the plus side... it appears that nothing is going to damage the display, this case is light weight, fits like a glove, and should last forever.

On the minus side... there is only one tab to flip open the cover and it's on the right side... maybe I'll have to switch pockets.

We'll see how it goes...

Very interesting design - I have the iPhone 4 and the Otterbox Defender case - and the case is very thick. Definitely not for "in pocket" carry.

I'm going to look into the 4s once supply catches up with demand - I may have to look into one of these cases.

Question - when the top cover is closed - is there some sort of membrane or plastic covering the opening? Also - can you charge the phone with the cover on?

There is a clear screen protector on the phone (it comes with the case).

Yes, you can easily charge the phone with the standard Iphone charger, with the case on.

I'm pretty sure it would not work with docking stations.

I have an IPOD with a wallet style leather case and you have to remove the IPOD in order to charge it, even though there is an opening in the case... the charger just won't attach completely with the case on it.

Local Verizon store still had all models of the new 4S in stock this evening. Local Apple store still had them friday evening.

Just an update... after using it for a bit over a week, I've decided I don't really like it. It does provide great protection for the display... but it makes using the phone a bit awkward, having to open the cover each time you use it. Also, the phone slips within the case.

I contacted CRKT about returning the case.

It's a cool idea but there's a reason flip phones aren't popular anymore. Though it's neat to pretend to be Kirk. :D

sounds kind of crappy:P I would not like a case where my phone moves around. I have a big thick griffin case on mine. Love the thing so far :)

i ordered the older version of this case, which only opens 180 degrees. therefore, it stands straight up when opened and cant be used as a stand. i was considering taking off the front cover just to reduce the length and oddity of the case when its opened. anyone's opinion welcome
thanks for all

I've got a new i-Phone 5 and tried the OtterBox Armor version. Did not care for it at all. Charging hole only allowed the original Apple charging cord to be used and the screen became unresponsive if you used it while plugged in. Sent it back and got the Defender. Much happier plus I could mix and match my colors.
