I saw this knife in a knife store, It was the black one. I couldn't believe how solid it was and how smooth it opend. It was only $20. I've never bought a CRKT before. I've handled them in stores and they where usually between 50 and 70 for most models. they just seemed low quality to me.Not very good F&F. I Basicly only get higher end spydies, benchmade, and Emersons. But for $20!! The Kasper Feels SO good in the hand. It is SUPER STOUT. I really just can't believe how nice this knife feels. it opens so smooth it almost feels like an assist. and the walker lock too. It's the best $20 I've ever spent, Well $60 because it was such a good deal I bought 3. I took one out back and was cutting garden hose, then carved a spear, then threw it at a wooden knife throwing target for awhile, and it held up great. I took it back inside and resharpened it on a sharpmaker and it's fine. Well accually I reprofiled it to 15. The aus6 made that pretty easy, But it took the edge great. I would highly recomend these knives to anyone for a super tough comfortable cheap beater. I wish they made them with S30V and G10

I received one of these knives by mistake and liked it so much I never sent it back for exchange. My experience with the knife is simular to killerskills' but would JUMP on one with S30V and Ti liners etc.... if the price wasn't "too" too high.

WOOK

The CRKT Crawford/Kasper is a copy of a custom high $ $ knife. I have the all metal professional model (about 60) as well as the cheaper zytel handled one. The reason you got one for 20 is they was discontinued. SMKW was selling them cheap for awhile. Its got a heck of a nice blade, I sometimes carry one for self-defense and don't feel like its any worse than knives costing much more. (the all metal model has better steel aus8)

FWIW, CRKT's customer service is pretty good too. I sold my KFF to a friend and he let it go through the washing machine and some screws came out. I called CRKT for him and they sent some replacements and its good as new. It did take a couple of calls to get all the screws we needed. Basically, they all came out except the pivot and 1 clip screw. Very solid feeling lock, with the LAWKS safety added, and a reprofiled blade at 17 degrees with a 20 degrees sharpmaker applied final edge. The only downside is the weight. This knife weighs a lot. Its a little scary to non-knife people as well.

I've had both the large and small version of this knife for years, and I love it. IMO it was always a bargain. The ergonomics of this knife (particularly the large one) is just perfect for me. I'm more inclined to a more traditional non-tactical knife look, but I have carried this knife often. It's one of my favorite black handled knives.

I have seen this knife in the custom version in stag, that would be a real joy for me to own.

I really loved my first one the 420j2 steel pretty well sucked but the smoth sides were easy on my pockets. It was really and excellent knife someday Ill own a custom model.

i would purchase a custom crawford KFF before i put any money into a CRKT, i have seen used KFF's for around $300, ya can send it to pat and it'll come back looking new for about $30 or so, and if ya ever wanna sell it ya can get your money back, pats prices went up about $150 each about 6 months or so ago, if ya ever wanna sell a CRKT, well its a CRKT and no ones gonna pay much of a premium even if it has a devin thomas blade, or something.

the KFF is a great design, i have had 2 or 3 CRKT versions and now also have a crawford KFF and a crawford perfigo.

pats also a great guy to deal with, i've talked to him on the phone a few times and a nicer guy ya wont ever meet.

Pat has his knifebuilding down. His standard models come in heavy duty form and, I think, are as solid as any custom out there. I received a Marauder at Christmas and have been totally satisfied with it. So much in fact that I have a Raider coming at the end of Feb, or first of March. As far as the KFF goes, I believe it will go down as one of the most classic of tactical folders. :)
