I just got a Eros the other day and it is a fine, very light, light duty EDC. The build quality is spot on too. I bought it specifically to have a very light EDC option. Nothing else really. The jewel like appearance is nice too. The clip is a little adorned which is fine by me considering the use I have intended for it. It's not cheap (about $125 - $150 STREET) for a CRKT but it's a fine, well built, light duty knife that that isn't so small that it won't fit your hand. If someone is looking for a super light, smaller EDC for some specific occasions, this will fill the bill without having to buy a miniature folder. The knife, although significantly less than 2 ounces, still has good handle and blade length but feels like you aren't carrying anything while in your pocket.

The action and lockup are great. The IKBS works! The fit and finish is great, typical of some Taiwanese MFG's these day. The edge grind is a little rough but nothing a few strokes won't fix. It came very sharp and after some loaded stropping was capable of actually shaving with it. I have no experience with Acuto+ blade steel but for the use I intend get out of this knife I'm sure it will fit the bill just fine.

Kudos to CRKT and Ken Onion. This is my first CRKT in 3 years because of some past bad experiences with some CRKT knives. I was reluctant to pull the trigger but I'm glad I did now. It's large enough to use and grip with large hands, has a useful blade profile for light duty EDC purposes and weighs in like a feather. Nice!

Gripes:

* Edge grind is slightly rough but overall good. The edge angle at the tip is uneven but many knives are like that OOTB. The edge angle also tapers from the tang to the tip because the blade thickness is reduced to that super fine tip. This in itself is more to do with the tapered blade thickness and not the grind.

* For $25 or less more, you can get a Hogue EX01 3.5" but you are buying the Eros for the purpose it serves and the workmanship is pretty good.

How does the clip retain? From the pictures it looks as if the retention might not be all that good.

The clip is stood off from the scale some but by design. The knife is so light it doesn't move in your pocket whatsoever. This is so light that it can only be classified as a gentleman's knife or for light duty EDC use.

I personally see no issue with the clip and again, at 1.4 ounces, it stays put. I don't expect to be doing back flips when carrying this knife. My intended purpose was for business casual days, casual dress days and summer shorts with flip flop days.

Great pics, Reeek! I too was impressed when I handled one, its on my to buy list.

It will certianly serve its purpose well without buying a cheap toy for same purpose. The build quality is more suited to us blade enthusiasts who have a certain level of expectations than that found in a gas staion display case :)
