Greetings All!
I hope you all had a fun filled weekend. I picked up a CRKT Ken Onion Eros on Friday. First impression was WOW!!!!! Nicw Sharp well put togather knife. I tell you what, it is one of the sharpest knives that I have had. It rates in sharpness with Tom Kreins knives-that is saying something!
I used it to cut ribbons for hellium filled ballons for my son's birthday party. It sailed through them so easily that I decided to let the ballons float to the ceiling and cut the free hanging ribbon. NO PROBLEM! The pocket clip was not as tight as I like so I removed it and gentlty adjusted it. Great fit now:D The blade showed a minute amount of lateral paly. I tightend the pivot. Great! It still flips as smooth as ver - now with no play. This knife really was worth the money and the wait. If you were on the fence go for it. I got the large one. It is a small knife to me, nice and non-threatening. I can use it around anyone I think. It is so light as to go un-noticed in a shirt pocket.I like the size a lot. I will carry it along with a Lg Sebenza for the big jobss. For everyday cutting and a very stabby and sharp self defence piece-it will work. I think the gents tactical is the right clasification.

That's a beaut! Very pointy!

I'm going to have to disagree with you on the money part.

I love Onion's design, and the Leek is my favorite edc. When I saw the first pics of the Eros, I was all set to buy a large and a small one. But I think this thing is WAY overpriced!

You can find a Kershaw Leek for under $50. What makes this knife 3 times more expensive??

Considering: the mediocre steel, no auto open, foreign made, small size. Yes, its titanium, but that doesn't justify such an inflated price. (the knife industry uses titanium as an excuse to charge crazy mark ups, not because of its inherent value) I think this is a $60 knife, but they have a hot designer's name on it, so they are selling at Gucci prices. That works on teen-age girls, but not me.

As much as this design appeals to me, I won't be buying one at this magical fairy-land price.

It kills me to say it, as I love the design, but I completely agree. I would have paid $80 for the large, and that's pushing it. Talk to custom makers, Ti is pricey, but it isn't that pricey.

Not exactly Gucci prices here. Remember the only reason why Ti is expensive is because it's expensive to mill/process. I see a lot of processing on the Ti handles.

I have a couple of leeks too. The Eros is a nicer knife imho. For all of you guys that feel like they cost too much, that is why there is a variety of knives out there. Hell, I can cut most stuff with a utility Stanley, but I like nice knives.

IMHO this is a terrific knife. I really am enjoying mine, and I did not mind the cost even considering that it is a CRKT. I will also try to purchase the Onion mid-tech EROS when it comes out later this year.

Hi Wali -

Thank you for your pictures and impressions.

I really like that knife.

For the folks asking where the money is, I guess it is from the materials, fit and finish, and the ball bearing pivot system on this design.

I like it, and will probably have to get my hands on one.

I agree - it is similar to a Leek, which is one of my favorites.

best regards -
