my wifes CRKT KFF Pro came monday - the blade is not marked AUS6 or 8 so the juries still out on that 1 - the ad for them says the pro's wont 'print' as bad as the zytel mods, well they are EXACTLY the same width, though the pro is lighter - dont know how much but lighter in the hand - heck the thing (small size KFF) is thicker than my crawford custom full size KFF Ti - so imho thats a moot point - the finish on the blade looks pretty darned close th the bead blast finish on my crawford Ti, score 1 for CRKT - but the handles, well i dont know - they look like someone sprayed them w/1604 bright silver krylon paint, and didnt do a good job at that - maybe will grow on me but initial impression was cheap cheap - also the pocket clip in ads is silver, mine is a tool box gray color - not ugly, but different from photos - is it as slippery as the zytel? i dont know, not much differnce - all in all a OK knife imho, though they coulda done better w/the handles, arent they supposed to be anodised? perhaps so but mine looks like its painted w/silver paint - am not as happy as i thought, but will still buy a large version just to check it out, and finally got my small zytel back from the wife ........imho worth the $$

Sifu, I was thinking the same thing based on the pics I saw on Knifecenter.com. The handles did not look any thinner than on the Zytel models. Is the texture of the handle at all like on the M16's?

Been thinking about whether or not to get this knife.

Reading Kit Carson's thread on the new CRKT Model 18 convinced me that is probably the next CRKT I'll be buying -- unless the F4 somehow beats it to the dealers. Doesn't sound likely.

The Model 18 is really cool. Kit's thread is in the What's New forum under manufacturers forums. You ought to take a look.
