A couple of things to start out. I like the CRKT KISS designs, I had one of the regular ones, I still have a peck, and I just received the SST.

The SST stands for Short Stubby Thing, total price including shipping was $29.

First this reminds me of the Peck, except that this one is larger and made of a thicker guage material. I imagine that it's the same guage as the Sampson KISS series. Anyway there are a couple of important differences. With the thicker material the lock engages much more firmly and it's held close much better.

With the larger size it's a little easier to use and open as you can get a better puchase on the thumb stud and handle.

There was a slight amount of grinding friction, I added some CRK grease and that helped. Also I know that after a break in time it smooths out considerably.

Probably the greatest part is that I appreciate the design and it has great flickability, and this size means you can really use it too.

As a note I ordered it from Bayou Laforche. I have ordered knives from other dealers over the phone before, and often they try to keep you to short as they can. I understand that, but I really appreciate that Roger takes the time to talk to you even if it is just a small order.

Now I want to go out and order some other ones in the KISS series.

Thanks,

I purchased the tanto stiff KISS model a while back. I think the knife works fine as a last ditch SD option. I didn't like the chisel grind, and thought that the sheath was way to big for a neck knife. Still, for around $20.00, it's not too bad.
