Is any of you using the CRKT KISS as a money clip or key-chain knife?
By looking at the picture alone, you might think that the blade, which is not protected, may cut your finger, if there ever becomes a slight blade play. Maybe that is not true. I've several CRKT knives, which are of very good quality.

I've used the Peck for over a year and a half as a money clip. Twice, in the early days, I managed to move the blade from its proper position, and stuck my finger or thumb pretty good. Haven't had a problem since, but have never really used it as a knife. I rarely even think about it when counting the knives I carry. I know I should practice opening it at least.

About $250 in 20s is about the maximum it will hold.

Hi

What you say about the blade is true. I got a kiss just because it looked neat. So far I've been unable to find a good use for the piece. Firstly, it's no good as a self-defense blade because you can (and eventually will) unlock the frame locking system - there's only one way to grip it safely (choking). Backhand use (ice-pick grip) is out of the question. When closed, I've never cut myself. The workmanship is good so unless you abuse it, there should be no play. Plus, you can always tighten the pin with a hex key (which is what I had to do after a few openings).

I used the kiss as a key chain knife and as such, it's safe enough. But like I said, I've found that other knife types fill my cutting needs better. Having said that, the kiss is now with my car keys. Kiss falls into the "neat toy"-category of knives, and you can never have too many of those.

Personally, I never have enough money to actually need a money clip, even though I've only bought one thrower and one auto this week. Go figure.

I've used a KISS as a keychain knife in the past and never had any problems with it. Was never expecting much in the way of performace due to its size and steel type, so it served it purpose well.

I used to carry various versions of the KISS as a money clip or backup carry, but never found a lot of use as far as cutting. I would use it when I needed to cut twine or something, but for me, the chisel-ground blades aren't among the best for most cutting I do.

However, all my KISS knives are very well-made. I would say the most solid of the 4 I own is the Classic KISS, which is satin-polished clip point made in Japan. Still chisel-ground, but hollow chisel-ground to a slightly thinner edge.

Only time I've cut myself with one was with the original little tanto KISS. I carelessly was opening/closing it and closed it on my thumb.

...They AREN'T "Lefty-friendly", unless the design has changed since I handled one a couple of years ago.:(.

I recently picked up a 24K K.I.S.S. as a money clip. So far, I like this little knife. It is a bit difficult to start opening due to the detent depth. I loosened the pivot screw, making it easier, but got a bit of blade play. It has never accidentally opened or able to catch my finger when closed.

A thumbs up from me.
