CRKT knock-off?

I've recently purchased a CRKT M13z for less than $20 at WalMart. This is less than half of the suggested prices that I've seen on-line. Is this a knock-off? No complaints about the knife, I use it every day at work. Also, anyone had experience with the CRKT M4 Kit Carson folder? It looks beautiful. Thanks.

I assume you mean M16-z. If so, I see some online for $25. That said, you're in the wrong forum. A large cat will be along shortly to move this post somewhere more appropriate. Also, welcome to BladeForums.

Will an ugly goat do :D.

Wecome to BFC.

I have an M16-13z I bought on eBay for like $12 awhile ago, so no, that's not an unreasonable price. The trick with the zytel series is that the steel is "AUS4", which is really crummy steel.

I found the knife to be otherwise well constructed though, and it served me well as an EDC until I replaced it this summer with a much nicer (and much pricier) Endura 4.

I belive that it is the M16 10kz. It is the 3" black coated version with the zytel handles. I believe the wal-marts down here have had a recall on those, but before they did I didn't have any problems with mine other than the edge holding capabilities of that knife. With a diamond rod that thing can get a better than razor edge, but after one or two simple uses the edge is gone. For the money, I'd hold onto it if I were you. I took mine fishing a few times and it didn't get a single spot of rust on it, so it holds up to salt water pretty well. Hope this helps, J.

ps. kiahs, what do you mean this is the wrong forum and it will be moved? I've never found a CRKT forum on here. If there is please let me know 'cause I like a few of their knives.

It was originally posted in the passaround forum. The ugly goat moved it.

Oh, then I guess that is kind of a wierd place to post this, LOL. Thanks for the input, J.
