What kind of steel is this knife made of? I have the 7" version of it and I really like it. I am curious as to the type of steel and its durability. Does anyone have any experience with this blade and how it holds up for use? Thanks for your time.

I'd guess 440-a as I once had a Seal-Tac and I believe that was the blade steel.

You could put nacho cheese sauce on it...

AUS-6. I had one, it wasn't bade, pretty easy to put an edge on, but it never held it as long as I'd like. Also, the guy I sold it do managed to snap about 1/4" off the tip.

There are only two types of people; those who understand this, and those who think they do.

I have a Komodo 4 (the small one) and it isn't all that bad. The handle is too small for my quite small hands though so I never carry it instead i gave it to my wife who carries it even less.

Just because I'm paranoid doesn't mean they're not out to get me.

i have one.....i like it but never use it...does anyone want to take it off my hands ? cannot even remember what i paid for it new. has the kydex sheath.

I'll take it off your hands, price depending of course. :) What's the length of the blade?

it is a komodo 7 so i guess it is a 7 inch blade...the biggest of the series. sorry i took so long to answer as i was on a trip out of town.

Sorry, was looking for something a bit smaller. Thanks though.

no problem....it can stay in my modest collection...it is a dis-continued model...you never know, this slab-sided oddity might become popular again.
