I have been looking at the CRKT Krein Dogfish Neck Knife to be used either as a neck knife or carried in pocket. Has anyone used, carried or sharpened this knife?
Please tell me your thoughts.:thumbup::thumbdn:
I read some good reports on the knife in the forums. I also liked the design/price of the knife, but when I handled it at a shop it seemed way to small for my tastes.
I have one and love it...to me it is a perfect neck knife. It holds an edge well and I rather like the aesthetics of the dogfish as well. And, as an additional bonus...if you like to drink "good" beer...you always have a bottle opener.
Tom should have some Mid-Tech versions available in S30V pretty soon.... His sheaths are great, just enough tension. I'm hoping he does some in CPM 154 CM.
I love the lil blade. Great neck knife design. Like other have said, the CRKT sheath was, well, "lacking" would be kind. Out of direct sunlight, in a car, high of 70 degrees, and the sheath remolded. I guess the only good thing was it could be remolded at a very low temp too.
You know? I've bought sheaths for other knives from Tom. I should contact him and buy one for the Dogfish! His sheaths rock!
I had the combo version (hard to sharpen) and I lost it when it fell out of the kydex sheath! @$*!$^#&
then I replaced it with the PE version and like it even more.
Good neck knife, good size, really nice design. Get it!
