The carbon fiber handle M-16 series seems to have the best steel of the CRKT line
The large tanto shape on carbon fiber handle also has the Carson flipper
It is however one of the most expensive CRKT knifes and as such there others from Spyderco and other makers that may be a better value
My real question is .
Is this a decent knife ? Is it worth the money ?
I know folks don't like the tanto blade but I like the knife.
Whatta you all think ?

If I recall correctly, an early review of the original M16-01/14 -- I think maybe written by Dexter Ewing -- suggested that the knife was so good it could have had the price doubled, maybe trebled, and still be a good buy. CRKT knives have frequently been described as the "best bang for the buck."

However, since the majority of CRKT knives selling on the web are priced in the $50 and under bracket, a lot of folks have apparently come to think that a CRKT couldn't possibly be worth as much as a Spyderco, Benchmade, etc.

It would be unfortunate and unfair, IMO, if CRKT is not ever able to venture into somewhat higher price brackets.

Ultimately, the value of any knife depends upon the customer. If he/she likes the knife, and it meets his/her needs, and is well made, with good fit and finish, then it probably is worth the price. It is up to you to decide that.

Certainly, there is more competition available at those higher price levels. I do think it would be wise to compare the knife you're interested with some similarly priced/configured knives.

I keep going back and forth on whether to buy it or not. I wish CRKT made a plain edge version. I have the aluminum full size and it is great. I am really looking forward to the M18 with flipper and lawks lock.

i have a small CF M16, the M16-00 i think it is, and am very happy w/it - a little light in the handle, and i wonder if ya are gonna get flex in the handle on the bigger one - i wanna handle one 'fore i buy, and am gonna wait till 1SKS or someone has a better price on them - but i am interested in them, and probably will buy one in the not to distant future.....

Gentlemen:
If you like the M16-14F, you had better buy it now. CRKT made one production run of that model. They sold out every piece of it and have no plans to make anymore as of yet. The only ones left are what may be in stock in a dealers inventory. They will probably not get any cheaper.

Thank's for the comments.
I have the M16-11F and it is a nice knife. The M16-14F should not have a problem with flexing as there is stainless liner in the carbon fiber. I also wish it was available in a blade other than the Tanto.
My distributors list them as in stock (have to check with them verbally) at a price of $88.00 (this is higher than most CRKT knifes)
I have been intriqued with it because of the Carbon Fiber handle and the better steel. I like the Tanto blade in a tactical look for on duty even though it is less usefull for genral purposes.
Guess I'll have to check with my sources to see if it is available.

The $88.00 price is a Wholesale price through a law enforcement distributor. They do not sell to individuals who are not in the business of resale of public safety supply.I sell Cop toys to other officers and have a FFL. This is the price they have listed, they may or may not have them in stock.
