this is an awsome knife! they are discontinued, but can be found online for 50 dollars or so. it uses a flipper to open, the handle is big and feels great in the hand, and the knife also has the LAWKS system. i also like the large pocket clip, the knife comes with an extra pocket clip. made in taiwan, not china.

i dont have a camera, here is a pic off the internet ...

for 50 dollars, this is a great deal, and a well made knife.

CRKT makes some great stuff

Own the non-serrated version. Only real improvement I could come up with is to have STR put a tip up lowrider on it.Like the LAWKS - really like the fact that you engage it manually.Based on the self administered thumb cut i got while "testing" the edge -this is the sharpest factory edge I've ever run into.
Definitely agree that this is one of the best values out there.

These knives are a bit bulky and are hampered by being ground on only one side (serrated version, anyway). They're for tough, rough cutting, and they aren't precision instruments. For fifty bucks, I'd opt for a M21-04 or spend a bit more and get an M16-14LE. The Cold Steel Voyagers also a good buy for the $$$, and the Buck Alaskan 110 for $68 at Cabela's is one of the best knife deals going. It's got strong rosewood handles and an S30V blade.

I have the CRKT Desert Cruiser with a gold (sand) finish and it is a good knife, but again, bulky. That's my chief criticism. The chisel grind you can live with.

the big hefty handle is one of the reasons i really like the knife. feels real solid.

I bought one of these ( in sand) from Smoky Mtn, they were closing them out so I bought one on impulse ( imagine ...buying a knife on impulse :o)

Anyway, I agree, in the hand they feel like a well built knife.

My only complaint about the sand colored M1, is the finish on the liners. The liners on my desert cruiser are bead blasted, but the M1 has a brown finish that looks sloppy. Otherwise it's a great knife for the money.
