I foolishly gave the above knife to a friend awhile back, but now find myself missing having one. Though discontinued I'm sure there must be a seller or two out there that still has them. Especially looking for the plain edge model.

i am familiar w/ this model, i have a black combo edge one.

it is a very thick, sturdy, well made knife, imho one of the best folders that crkt ever made. the plain edge version is very hard to find.

they are hard to come by w/ the black finish, although it is my understanding that snap-on tools offered one in collaboration w/ crkt, not sure if it is still available.

check ebay...they should still be available in desert tan w/ combo edge for around $30.00, darn cheap for a knife of that quality.

Surfing immediately brings up a number of shops with them still in stock. I got mine three years ago from a local dealer. I was ok with it until I bought a Buck Tarani and had something quite different to compare against.

While thick and heavy, the handle is quite comfortable. The TiN plating does keep the blade relatively scratch free, and reduces friction in the cut. I think my biggest objection was the swedge grind and modified tanto - it doesn't seem to do well as a box cutter without a point or slimmer blade profile. It can be sharpened on a set of crock sticks more easily than a tanto.

I'm glad I got one at the time and tried it. It just didn't seem to get much traction in the market, no fault of Greg Lightfoot. Perhaps CRKT's M16 designs were too much - especially since there are more models.
