Hi,
one year ago I lost my beloved M16 on a meadow. After several hours of searching I had given up. So the knife laid there unprotected for about twelve months. Today I accidentally saw something black on the ground with a familiar shape. There's not much corrosion—all can be more or less wiped or scratched away. I think taking some photos might be interesting for some of you. The main corrosion took place an the inside of the liner—where it is quite easy to remove once the knife has been opened. The edge hardly showed any damage (knife was closed). I used it as an EDC knife, so at the moment I dropped it, there was some oil on the inside around the pivot and the liner, but the blade itself was free of oil, as I used it for preparing food and stuff.
