Hey all.
I was looking at relatively budget friendly knives and I found the M16-03KS at what I thought was a reasonable price for what is offered.
Anyways, just wondering if there are any accessories to make it my own? I'm not getting anything via the big G search machine.

Thanx in advance.

these frame lock version I own and played with and I dont have them all or that particular one........... are thin compared to the liner lock version. I dont care for it.

they arent great quality overall and I wouldn't waste any money trying to customize it. it's not a knife worth spending money on. opinions differ but that's mine.

Well, it's leaps and bounds better than the Camillus Chunk my wife got for me. So I'll use it until I find something else for a good deal.
Thanx though, totally didn't register with my brain that it was a frame lock.

I'll take some pics tonight for ya of the versions I have so you can see what they look like without being setup for marketing and selling angles. its an okay user knife and steels bit soft, but I wouldn't get into making changes and customizing it. that's just me though.

I have a handful of these m16 knives...as I kinda like the design of them, but the execution isn't great.

I was pretty much looking for a different pocket clip and maybe throw a bearing in instead of the washer. I know it's not expensive but it's extremely hard to justify $200 for super steels.

they all flip open pretty easily.. I see no reason to try to put bearings in unless ya just wanted to. not sure it would even work without a lot of modding.

pocket clip wise they work. that would take someone custom to make one unless you were setup to make your own?

you'd never get your money back if ya sold it. these knives don't hold resale value. plus mods you'd never get money back either. id be more inclined to find a knife ya like as is...and save up for it or hunt used...........

I don't ever sell anything, lol. Aside from this knife I usually research stuff quite a bit.

As for the bearing install, I thought the opening action would be nearly 100%, it's at about 75% consistency. Doesn't always lock open, probably due to the frame pressure and being brand new.
Just thought for this price it would be better.

oh ya already have one. sorry I thought ya didn't and were thinking about buying one and doing work on it. I completely missed ya had it/ i read it all wrong.

weird yours doesn't flip open easily. all mine do. pivots not too tight is it?

Cheapest Ive seen is around $20 USD , might be available for less = Budget knife !

Why some are asking nearly $200 USD for them = ????????/

It's an interesting knife , for a budget knife .. Hmmmm , I might have cut rope with mine ....... But I don't remember the result .

I was chasing the M21 myself , but they be seriously ridiculously priced now .

It's a $43 knife (on BHQ). Any mod that you'd make (if you could make one) probably would cost more than that.

Why bother? 🤷‍♂️

Maybe, I've never had a knife that wasn't disposable per say so I'm not sure how to tweak the pivot.

flat head screwdriver, use the proper size one though and turn it a bit on this model...... i circled the pivot screw.....

snug enough it doesn't have play ya dont want but opens easily enough when flipped. there is usually a fine balance point between the two.

Thanx. It was cranked almost completely tight. Totally different knife now.

I believe there was a version of this knife sold at Walmart for 20 a piece, it's was much like this, maybe scaled down and made of 8cr13mov
It took all the abuse I gave, coating came off every where, I stuck it in dirt, soil bags, dropped it numerous times, did light prying, opened beer bottles with it. ran it under water, I didn't abused it, I just used it, never a problem, this one is made in Sandvik 12C27, a very honest, pure, hard working stainless steel, hardenable, it has good strength and corrosion resistance. I bought two tonight to carry at work with my Asp and 0C spray, and im not worried about it at all. Maybe some people are so use to mid tech to high end knives that when they occasionally buy a budget blade, they may scrutinize it too harshly
