CRKT M16-03Z vs M16-01Z

I currently have an older model (no AutoLAWKS) CRKT M16-12Z that I like everything about...except for the blade. It's the right size, right feel, I like the flipper, like the handle, etc. I don't like that the blade is half-serrated and tanto point.

I'm looking to buy an M16-03Z or M16-01Z to replace it, but I can't decide which. The 01 is smaller than the 12, and the 03 is larger. Can someone give me a push in either direction?

Go with an M21-G10

Same 3 Inch blade, better steel(8cr13mov), full plain edge, in a drop/spearish point with lots of belly.

Cheap too.

Plenty of interest, but I'm just looking to replace my M16 with the same knife with a blade profile I like more :)

Thanks, I'll check it out - looks like the M21 has the same basic design as the M16?
 
m21 has the same handles as the m16 and the same blade as the m18. Not quite as needle-like as the m16, a little more substantial feel in the hand.
otherwise, go with the m16-01 -- it fits better in a front pocket than the 03.
 
I have an M21 04; it's got an aluminum handle instead of zytel or G-10. I like it a lot. Giant, though, and I can't remember what model the smaller one is. The smaller one I think has the regular LAWKS, the larger the Auto-LAWKS. I recommend it.

The difference between the m16's and the m21's is that the m16's have either a tanto or spear point blade where as the M21 has more of a drop point blade. The M16 You have has zytel handles where the M21 has a G10 Handle. G10 is generally considered better, it gives you more texture and it's also stronger. The M16's steel on the lower end ones kinda suck (AUS4) while the M21's steel is 8cr13mov, more carbon, better edge holding, ect. Just overall better. I think the m21 has auto lawks on it too.
 
My M21 has an AUS-8 blade. The spearpoint blade has a bit of a recurve, and it's not in that funky chisel grind.
