This knife is on my top 5 list of knives I want to own. Would like your thoughts about it. Something about it says scary strong, all but the handle, it seems a little too small for the blade and tangs. thanx for advice.:p

I don't have this model, However I must say that I stayed away from CRKT's b/c of the whole overseas deal thinking they weren't really worthy of collecting. BUT in a recent trade deal I recieved a Mirage Grey Ghost and I love it. I think its a real quality knife. So personally I am going to definatly pick up a few more. Including the model you mentioned. Enjoy

I have a similar blade. I have a M16Z-13 and it's a great beater.
The tanto serrated really did serve me well. It's sharp as hell and my true first knife that I kept. I suspect that without the Z you're getting the regular version, so you would have AUS8 steel which would maintain the edge better than the zytel versions.
So you got your eye on the special forces with the double tang. It looks like it would work, but I doubt how well the Teflon would actually hold up in serious use. I think it's AUS 8 so it's definately an improvement over the Zytel version. Since it's tip-up, you can really use the double tang like the Emerson Wave, but you can probably use kinetic opening on that knife.

Calyth:
The M16-13SF is tip down. The finish on all black blade M16s is being switched over to titanium nitride. You can tell which one you have by the finish. The black ti is shinier than the teflon. So far the FD's and LE's I received are all black ti coated. I hope this clears up any confusion.

I was a little disapointed in the size (small) for a S.F. knife.
I wrote CRKT and they have a bigger sf model in the works, based
on the M16-14 size.
