CRKT M16-13SFG - do the flippers get in the way?

I am looking at getting a new knife, and the CRKT M16 and M21 series caught my eye. I think the M16-01/11 series are too small for my taste. The 'big dog' 04/14 are too big for EDC. The M16-13SFG is the size I am looking for, but the double flippers look like they will get in the way. I will not be using it in a combat situation.

My main concern is the flippers getting in the way while it is in my pocket. I carry my knife clipped to my front right pocket. That is also where I keep my phone. I foresee my phone 'catching' one of the flippers as I try to get it out of my pocket. Does anyone have experience with this as a problem - or am I exaggerating?

Thanks for the input.

Carrying other items with knife in the same pocket is not a good idea, unless you have no other option, IMO, or you are a big person with deep & wide pocket ;).

i edc this knife sometimes. i happened to put my car keys in the same pocket that i carry this knife in. As i was walking to my truck and reaching into my pocket, i didnt notice that the blade opened just slightly and i ran my pinky finger down the blade. 8 stiches later i learned my lesson to be more careful lol. other than that issue its a great knife. just be careful.

I have 4" versions of both the M16 and M21 but neither has the dual flippers, just the front flipper that sticks out the back of the handle when closed. I've never had an issue with the flipper being in the way. In fact it's my favorite thing about the knife.

Carried a M16 as EDC for 2 years never got in the way. If positioned correctly the flippers will open the knife as you pull it from your pocket.I dont know which is the better feature, the double flipper or the "Auto Lawks". IMHO best linner lock on the market. My one and only complaint is the serated edge, right on the part of the blade I use the most! Only liner lock that I havnt defeted. Just had to replace it becuse I used it so much and widdled down the blade so much. I just have one EDC, use it till its worn out or breaks, then replace.

LOL all my retired EDC's are my table knives now, except the CRKT it stays in my emergency pocket in my EDC backpack
