Does anyone know if CKRT currently or plans for in the future to offer the M16 Carbon Fiber model with the Carson flipper?

This seems like a great knife but I would like the option of the Carson Flipper if possible.

Thanks
Sorry to Kit as I spelled Carson with a K on the topic.

G35,
Not that I know of. I imagine if enough customers ask for it with the flipper, it would happen. That's what happened with the 02 and 03 models. They started out without flippers.

Maybe I can be corrected on this, but I heard somewhere (can't remember where) that the flipper was providing too much force on opening and causing problems with the carbon fiber handle scales?

Tom,
To my knowledge, the only carbon fiber ones with flippers were the prototypes I built and I was pleased with how the carbon fiber held up. I do several hand built versions from 4 inch blades down and they all have held up great.
I just don't think the lightweight blade can develop enough momentum when opening it to make the flipper work like on the larger models. I sometimes forget that people just use the flipper to assist in opening it.

Kit, do you know if CRKT plans on producing a large M-16 in carbon fiber, something on the scale of a M-16 14. I have the present carbon fiber model and it is a great little knife, except for the missing flipper.

I contacted CRKT several months ago also inquiring if a slightly larger carbon fiber M-16 with the flipper was planned in the future and was told there were no plans at this time. I made one request. Maybe several hundred would make it happen.

It would seem to me that as light as the Carbon Fibre is, you would almost throw it our of your hands while tryingto flip it. I do like the flipper being added to the 02 & 03 models now. That is the perfect size and I love the weight.
