CRKT M16 or Benchmade Ambush?

Well, I've decided on two knives.
I go with the CRKT M16 (Tanto-edge) or the Benchmade Ambush.

I need help on deciding what to get. I'm leaning towards Ambush, but the M16 looks good also.

I like the spearpoint M16, but the Ambush is also interesting.
Try going to a knife store and try them both out.

I have an M16. The large tanto model with a plain edge. It is very nicely made with excellent lockup and zero blade play. The ambush looks good too just have'nt got to see one up close.

I am new to knives, and on somewhat of a budget. I have the CRKT M16-12Z, and love it. No blade play. Holds an edge pretty well. The Carson Flipper is makes for a very fast manual knife. Great knife for the money.

I have a large M-16 Tanto and a Spearpoint. I like them both. Great knives for very little money. I haven't handled a BM Ambush yet but expect it to have BM fit and function with less costly materials at a CRKT price.

I have a Benchmade Ambush & I also have 3 CRKT M-16 models: (M16-13M, M16-03Z and an M16-04). Of my M16s, I prefer the spear point models over the tanto point M16-04, but I do like the size and feel of the large model.

Since I own both and have used them, I've come to prefer the Ambush over the M16 overall. I find the Ambush's blade shape more appealing and more versatile than the M16's spear point or tanto point and I also prefer the satin finish on the Ambush over the bead blast and Ti-Ni coatings offered on the M16s. I also prefer to carry my knives tip up which is a feature the M16s don't have with the exception of the Special Forces series. And of course, the M16 has a linerlock and LAWKS safety feature, but the Ambush has a Rolling Lock mechanism which I have found to be reliable so far and easier to manipulate.

They're both good solid knives for the money and if I didn't like them I wouldn't have bought them. I guess what I'm trying to say is that it really boils down to your personal choice. Each has features the other one doesn't, so consider what uses you will put the knife through and consider which features you like best. Eventually, you'll probably end up owning both, but give it some thought.

By the way, in case you're interested, you can read my take on the Benchmade Ambush here: http://www.bladeforums.com/forums/showthread.php?s=&threadid=284568&highlight=Ambush

Well:

My final choice is in the Benchmade Ambush. Looks nice, and from your review, seems to me perfect for me.

Thanks to everyone who contributed!
