Just saw one of these up close and personal.
Looks like a nice general purpose EDC. And the price they go for, WOW!
I'm thinking of the M16-03 I think, which is the spear point plain edge with Al handles.
How does the flipper work for opening?
Any blade wobble when locked open?
The handles look like a good shape, but they do look narrow. Are they comfy and secure?
How'z the overall QC?
A lot of people rave about CRKT, but I can't understand how they put out such quality for the prices they charge.
What's the deal?
Other than the M16, what's your favorite CRKT?
Thanks for the info.

Is it me or is there always ppl asking for a review on this knife?

But back to your question. I love my m-16. It is a very nice little knife that you can use for just about any purpose. I recommend sanding down the pins and the thumb studs though because they tend to get caught on your clothes at least in my case.

I love the M16, and I think you'll like the M18 very much.
It's a great buy if you find a good online discount store.

The flipper is fast. Mine has a tiny bit of up and down play but that's after I beat the holy he!! out of it for two years. BTW, I've never had the lock accidentally disengage. YMMV

Its a good knife Ive carried one off and on for a 2yrs or so. Try a m18 with a much nicer spear point of aus-8 and (t6) aluminum handle with g-10 insert. a little more, but well worth it!

I've noticed the same thing. It's as though a lot of us can't believe that after handling one, playing with the "flipper" (and digging it! ), considering the "Taiwan thing", and then pricing it, we'll actually be happy with this knife, or at the least will be looked down upon by more knowledgeable knife users. These knives are a great deal. Period. geegee

The m16 is a great knife for the money. ive carried them since they first came out, the m16 military version with olive handles & black blade race open so fast with the flipper, its almost effortless. i got over the made in tawain thing, its still an american factory & machinery.:)

The M-16 and M-18 are both great knives and i have owned them both in the past, i sold off the M16 and kept the M-18, which IMO is a overall better blade design for utility work and has LAWKS(my M16 did not, i understand some of the newer ones do though)

I have a CRKT M16-03 with aluminum handles and it is one of the best folders I have owned. Takes a beating, locks up tight and is good and sharp right out of the box. I don't think you can go wrong with this knife. later

Mine is an M-16-03Z with Zytel Handles. I got this particular model for where the clip is attached. It will snuggle down into a pocket nicely.

It was my first 'real' knife... well, after some gerber stuff. It came VERY sharp. It locks up tight, opens easy, and has never even made me think it was gonna close without my help.

I don't actually carry it or any other locking folder, instead carrying a SAK Tinker and a SAK Classic, and an ARC AAA and a Mini M*g with a Madmax LED module.

I liked it so much that I also got a CRKT Mirage Wharncliff.

The only problem Ive ever had with crkt knives is that some of the blades bead blast finish hides some of the defects in the blade that ends up rusting later (small pits). Ive learned that you put a good coat of oil, or in my case I use tuf-glide on the blade when I first receive it.

I like the M16 design and it is one tough folder, but the lock release and the thumb-studs eat the flesh off my thumb. They're just too abrasive.

My favorite CRKT knife is the BladeLock (designed by Michael Walker).

CRKT makes some terrific knives with great attention to detail and very good fit-and-finish. I suppose it's the cheap Taiwanese labor that that lets them keep down the price. If you compare clothes made in China to clothes made in the USA, you'll see a similar difference in price.
If CRKT made lousy knives, I don't think you would see so many custom knife makers putting their names on the knives. I guess Crawford, Carson, Hammond, and Walker (among others) are happy with what CRKT is doing.
