Figured this would be quicker than emailing Crkt. Does anyone know what type of washers ( plastic, nylon, etc) are used in the M16s ?

My two cents , steer away from the cheaper M-16 versions.

The Ti version is pretty sweet.

The Ti version is the one I'm looking at actaully. I've had good experience with the 2 lower end ones I had but no longer own.

My Ti is very sweet, very smooth knife, I do not, though, know what kind of washers they use, sorry.

They are teflon. Although they crumple easy.I have owned 2 Crkt blades, not bad but they are overpriced considering the steels they use. You can do better in buying some Kershaws. A lot better materials, better craftmanship, better prices . An Ontario Rat 1 folder is better built and you can pick them up for as low as 25 bucks.

Don't even get an M-16. I like crkt knives, but I've never touched a 16 I likes. The carson M4, and Summit series are good, but heavy.

+1 for the ontario Rat 1, I think i'll go order another 2 for Christmas presents for my brothers.

Rough crowd....

I've got an early M16 with a partially serrated blade. I really enjoy that knife. I've had it about 8 years now and it's the only knife in my collection that I've owned that long. It got me through the military and it is now working just fine for other things that I need it to do. It doesn't have LAWKS but has a rock solid lock up for liner locks. I just got it back from Richard J and the edge is wicked now.

CRKT gets a lot of hate on BF for some reason, but IMO they make a good, well priced blade. I really enjoy thier custom maker collaborations as well.

I have heard some dislike for the chisel edge, mine (M-16) got spooky sharp but the liner lock really was hard to disengage when the blade was flipped out very hard. My Ti version does not have that problem nor does it have a chisel edge. I would like to handle a 21, may get one some day.

I too have one of the older M16 , zytel , no autolawks.

It has served it's purpose well and been very worth the price I paid.

It is easy for a brand to get hated on here , sometimes they deserve it and sometimes they do not.
