Hello all. I have a small problem with my new m16LE. At the point( its a tanto), it has a small burr sticking up at the tip of the blade. it is just enough that u can feel it when u run your finger down the spine of the blade. any suggestions on how to get rid of it without messing up the finish on the blade( it has a black coated blade). Thanks

I know it sounds wierd but there is a small piece of metal stucking up were the tanto is sharpened. its like if u grind a piece of metal on a grinder and u get that burr that hangs over the edge. it looks like it is from sharpening at the factory.

I have an m16-00 carbon fiber handled small tanto that had the same issue. If I remember, I just smoothed it off with a coarse stone and then a medium. I wasn't as worried about the finish since it doesn't have the black coating. Maybe try a medium stone really carefully to save the finish.

tusk212, that's like a wire edge. Buff it off with a piece of ceramic, like a Gatco Tri-Seps or a Spyderco Sharpmaker rod, manually, not in the frame.

In fact, before you use anything even that harsh, try buffing/stropping it off on your pants' leg or a piece of cardboard.
