Well, for an inexpensive (aka cheap) liner-lock knife, the Mirage isn't half bad. AUS6 wharncliff steel blade w/ AL liners (I think) and zytel scales. I bought a few as gifts and ended up keeping one for myself. Makes a great beater for small tasks. I used it for cutting messy food at a picnic this summer and then just gave it a good bath. The size is a bit too small for big projects (3 in.) and the grip isn't great, but it's easy to sharpen.
Overall, don't expect too much from it and you won't be disappointed.
Very good work knives that can be found at excellent price.
May require more edge maintenance than some others, but with the money you save, you could pick up a sharpmaker as well!
I have one. Used it as my EDC for a while.Right now I carry a spyderco that I just bought. BUT I probably will go back to the Mirage after I get to play around with my new knives. ( I bought 3 spydies for myself last month ) I like the Mirage a lot. Really like the warncliff blade, it fits my cutting needs the best. And the sucker really gets sharp. Worse cut I ever got was from this knife. My fault of course.
I do recomend the Mirage highly.
Good luck
Jack
Ive got the wharncliffe model paid about 16 dollars for it, not a bad knife for the money. Ive seen smoky sell them, the large and small models, for as little as 9.99 a pop (sometimes a little more). all in all they're ok, but nothing to write home about. If you can get one cheap than its well worth it (9-20 dollars).
