I just wanna make sure i haven't steered a friend/family member wrong. my cousin needs a folder, he is reluctant to spend much money on something he feels he has gotten by w/o for so many years.

while searching for knives in his price range, i leaned toward Kershaw, but he was not as drawn to them as he was the My Tigh i showed him (a picture of)

i've held the knife, in person, only once and it seemed to be of decent quality. is there anything i should know before he gets it?

also, i told him of a reported issue w/Kershaw SA's. my Xbrother n law has had a few of them and said everyone of them is disabled, now. he said whenever he drops one, it ALWAYS lands point down and the spring system is destroyed. anyonelse ever had this happen?

ETA- i tried to get him to go with a BM apparition, but that's not happening lol

Ok, it doesn't have to be a My Tighe. does anybody have any experience with a SA CRKT folder similiar to the My Tighe?

the frame on the My Tighe tends to rust [all of CRKT's liners are prone to rusting iirc]

CRKT make shit knives. don't waste your money. if you don't want to spend alot ,go with a BM Grip

I got one and I admit i dont carry it much but the initial impressions are good. Good lockup and very sharp. I dont have many CRKT folding knives but this one seems to be very good.

I carried the knife for only a few days when i got it until my regular rotation kicked back in place. I say for the money its a good solid folder.

I have a My Tighe. It is a great knife for the money. VERY strong opening mechanism. Came sharper than my Spyderco. Lock up is great. It feels very comfortable in the hand. It's a bit heavy, though.

have you had it for long? my initial impressions were it seemed sturdy enough for the price, but i wasn't sure if it would last or wear out quick.
