A few years ago when we had an actual knife shop, a friend but a CRKT folder, that was all steel, had holes in the handle frame which was also bare steel, I think it was a simple clip point blade. Can't seem to remember the name of it. Anyone have an idea? I know its no longer in production.

A brochure I have shows one called the Commander. Described as nickel-chrome plated zinc alloy frame with an AUS6M blade. A liner lock. Not very expensive if I remember correctly. Five large holes and eight smaller holes in the handle.

Wait, it's one of the summit series? Those are still in production. We're always getting them in at my store. You should be able to find them pretty easily. Simply googling 'CRKT Summit' brings up several pages of them for sale.

The old "Commander" series (named after generals) was replaced by the "Summit" series (named after mountains). The blade shape changed from clip to modified drop, and they added the LAWKS to the lock.

I had one and sold/traded it. I was great quality, even though I don't like liner locks. I just did not like the heft of the knife. Very sturdy, but you pay for it in weight.

I have two, the large and small Commanders, or whatever they're called. Send me an e-mail if you're interested and we'll work something out.
