Hello I am going to buy a CRKT knife I have wanted one of there's for a long time and I have also wanted to replace my old assisted knife so I settled on the crkt natural but I am not sure as to which get the 3.88 or the 3.25 version now I am a big guy I am 6'5 over 200 pounds so weight for me is not a huge problem but it is a factor so am I wrong to want the natural-1 for EDC

I think that which ever one you think will be better is the one you should get. 3.88 isn't monstrous by any means. You might want to see if you can go to a store and play with each of them to see how they feel/look in your hand.

I wish I could the one place around here that carries knives is dicks sporting goods and there selection is very limited I called most of the places crkt say are dealers in there dealer locator and some sell knives but not that one some don't sell knives at all I live in central jersey so it's few and far between for me that's why I come on here to seek counsel

Personally I would go with the 3.25 incher because it is my favorite blade length and it works for anything I need to use a folder for.

Your right about that. this is going to be a tough choice as I plan on this being the last knife I buy for a good long while, at least till next march ( my b-day )

I'd really appreciate some more input :o

Well, the big Natural weighs 10.2 ounces, that's almost 300 grams, which is in my opinion more than heavy, it's elephantesque. You'll always feel it on you - which has nothing to do with your own weight, I like a blade that I can almost forget that I carry it
The smaller one is at 6.3 ounces or almost 180 grams still pretty heavy for its size.
The smaller one's blade size is in my opinion good enough for many uses, and it will carry a lot more unobtrusive.
So, between the 2 I would go for the small one, but I'd rather look elsewhere. I do appreciate though that you get quite a classy looking knife for your price though.
For in essence the same price as the big one, you can have the Spyderco Stretch with VG10 blade and FRN handles which is deliciously universal and very capable and around 95 grams; but of course it looks more utilitarian. Another interesting and cheaper alternative, and a classy one at that is the Boker Exskelibur 1, which is a lovely licensed version of a custom design. Or, if you insisted on assisted opening, perhaps there are still some Kershaw Tyrade G10 variants for sale.

I've held both and seeing your 6'5" you've probably got bigger hands than most. I have held both and like the Natural (3.88" version) I like a bigger and heavier knife.

I was very surprised at how nice the knife really is with the attention to detail and it seems very well built. I am going to get the natural white bone with Micarta as I thought that the two other styles with stainless bolsters were missing something and looked cheap and unfiished.

I looked at several other knives that same day and felt this was better than some of the knives I looked at that cost twice as much.

The only thing that I will change is the wavy top on the knife as I don't like that, other wise it is a winner.

I will also carry this knife as I do my Buck 110, in a leather sheath.

Thank you both so much I am gonna check out those other knives today dagon but I am looking for a classier knife for utilitarian use I got my beat to hell CS ak-47 and I would use the natural for normal carry but if I know I am gonna be cutting alot of stuff I'll bring the AK, but just for going out and the need arises to cut something small and also (I pray not to) use it as a emergency self defense. i'm weird like that I am an old soul in this world where people my age (26) like guns like the big flashy chromed desert eagle or a glock 9 one the other hand I perfer an old schofield model 3 ( I really want one of those )

Thanks for your clarification. Actually the kind of knife you are looking for is exactly what I like as well. This being said, the Stretch 2 is awesome, and the Exskeliburs are classy.
I have to go now, and within a few hours I will post a follow up to a few really interesting, characterful knives for you to check out. For example the Lion Steel Opera with olive wood handle.

Ok, here are a few more interesting classy yet capable knives. I thought around $100 as your upper limit. If you are interested, I discuss most of them in clips accessible in my review list page:

- Lion Steel Opera, Italian flair in a lockback (clip 13)
- Spyderco Centofante 3, capable modern full size gentlemen-style knife (clip 28)
- Eka Swede 88 Masur, nice compact outdoor folder (clip 37)
- Boker Plus Exskelibur 1 (clip 53) or the smaller Ekskelibur 2 (clip 76)
- Brisa Enzo Birk folder - modern scandinavian style, cheapest start around $100 (clip 85)
- Chambriard Le Compagnon - suave French style EDC (clip 2)

Wow man thanks alot that boker is really nice and more and more I am liking that centofane 3 can you tell me what a frn handle feels like
