Hi folks!
I wanna to give you a short review on one of my favorite knives: the CRKT Neck PECK.
As I first saw it in a catalog I thought: it does not even have a real handle, nor a useful blade length. Then I took a closer look and found out how nice this lil tool is.
So I bought it.
And I bought another one.
Until like one week ago I was proud owner of two PECKs, but I gave one to my best female friend - she liked it since she first held it in her hand. And I´m sure: many more non-knife women (she ain´t a knife person) would appreciate the design. Unbelievably light-weight, small, but the blade´s still long enough to do average cutting jobs.
The sheath is nice although it´s "just" Zytel, not Kydex. You don´t even notice it while wearin´ it around your neck, flat, short and light-weight (as mentioned above).
The Wharncliffe blade is very suitable for this knid of knife. It offers a nice tip and a straight edge - which I prefer over other designs when it comes to finer cutting jobs.
Yeah, the steel´s definitely not great (I´m not a big resharpening fan), but what do you expect from such a low-cost knife?
My suggestion:
Show it to your wives, girlfriends etc. and let ´em open a few letters, cut a few boxes with it. I´m sure they´ll like it.
What are your experiences with this knife?
