What material does CRKT use for its pivot pin washers? All mine appear to be a white nylon or plastic material.

Has anyone replaced them with metal washers/bushings? I'm sure it would eliminate some of the blade-flex slop with CRKT products.

Some of them have teflon bearings for the pivot...
I just wonder what you mean with the blade-flex problem on the CRKTs?

Simply that there is some side to side play on some of my models. The pivot is tight enough, but I'm wondering if the softer washer/bearing material is responsible for some of the play?

The blade play on CRKT's is not due to the washers they use, which are teflon. I took one apart, and replaced these with metal washers, and still the same play, but with a sandpaper like opening. I believe the play is due to the fact that the locking mechanism isn't as precily made as some more expensive folders.

I just took my Titanium S-2 apart, they appear to be teflon washers.
That is a nice lttle knife for the money: titanium frame lock, ATS blade (going for BC coating :D ).
Really hard to beat for $35 shipped...

I got two folder myself and didn't have that problem.
Perhaps you should phone them up and ask them about it.
