This is my first knife and thus first knife review, so go easy :p

I'm surprised nobody has really talked about the pazoda 2 on these forums much, it seems like a great option.

First some specs from CRKT's site

So right off the bat some excellent specs. A pretty nice steel and a good weight, along with a liner lock. I really like the size and look of the knife too. It's doesn't look like a weapon and it fits easily into the watch pocket of my jeans with the nice deep clip.

When I first got it I was surprised at how light 1.5 oz really was. I was wondering if there was even anything inside the box. Despite it's lightness, it still feels sturdy. At first opening it was kind of hard with one hand (I imagine that's normal with new folders?) but I got it to open.

The lock was questionable though. The framelock failed to fully engage the first couple of times. The blade closed up on its own. The third or fourth time I tried I pushed the liner lock in manually and after that it started to engage fully just fine. Now the trouble is how hard it is to disengage! my thumb isn't very calloused so maybe some of you manly men with rock hard fingertips would be able to do it easily. Once it is locked up though, it's awesome. There is NO play in any direction whatsoever. A great lock.

It's sharpness seemed just fine, it went through the paper test (official name? lol) pretty easily. Of course, I have no comparison point except maybe my crappy 8 dollar chef's knife.

The clip is nice and deep, although rather long.

I really like the blade shape and the jimping (sp?) seems adequate.

Note that there is a bigger version, the Pazoda 1, with a blade length of 2.625 inches. It weighs 3.1 oz.

Now the real selling point. For all the nice materials and excellent construction, this knife costs $19.99 on CRKT's website. Even better though, is the fact that I picked this up on eBay for $13 with free shipping. Ridiculous.

Considering all of this, I am extremely happy with this purchase. I'll probably just use it for light EDC.

Competitors I considered were the Kershaw OD-2 and the KaBar Dozier

I apologize for the crappy pictures, I only have an old cell phone camera. I hope you guys got a good idea of what this knife is like though. Happy Hunting.

I'll echo the comment about the frame lock failing to engage. I bought 2 of the Pazoda 1 (my scale says 3.35 oz) and both have problems engaging. One requires a little more pressure than I usually use to engage the lock when opening, and the other requires me to use both hands to fully engage the frame. Of course at $8 each on Woot, I can't complain too much. Nice knife overall.
