An Apologetic review -

Out of curiosity I asked CRKT what were their best sellers.

Top by units sold was the CRKT Pazoda 6480 -

I thought: I know that knife,
and not only that - I have one
courtesy of CRKT for nearly two years -
hence my belated apologies......

Size -
Open -

Closed -

The Pazoda is an attractive knife with some very desirable features - at a very reasonable price (seen for <$18 shipped)
it has all steel handles - and it is a frame-lock.

lock up is solid and really good -
shown with the original (small) all steel CRKT Ken Onion Ripple 2 - also a frame-lock.

The blade steel is 8Cr14MoV hardened to 58-59HRc.
Gray titanium nitride coated with an oval thumb-hole opener, instead of the usual thumb-studs.
Holes are marginally better because they are less likely to impede cutting through.
(but I realize (and have many thumb-studded knives, where) this is not really a big problem).

It is nice and sharp with a good edge bevel.

Being all steel it is relatively heavy at 3.19oz on my digital scales -
compared to - 2.23oz of the all steel Ripple 2 (original version)
2.08oz Victorinox Spartan SAK
1.77 oz Ripple Aluminum 2 (small - this is a liner-lock)

Overall this is a really nice knife - almost at any price -
but at the available low prices seen - it is a real bargain -
no wonder it's CRKT best seller -

Hope I get forgiven for being so tardy....

This is one I've always overlooked, but without a good reason. I may have to pick one up, the price is certainly right. Good review.

Thanks, you're right - it's great value for money -
CRKT's best seller by number of units sold -

I also "overlooked" it
for nearly two years!

The opening hole has another advantage - which I saw for Spyderco knives -
pinch the hole and snap the handle downwards to open the knife.

The clip is a deep pocket design -

I prefer carrying in my back pocket -
but realize that many prefer the front -

The Pazoda makes for a very discrete carry.

CRKT have introduced a Pazoda Large (link to CRKT page) Model # 6481 plain & 6491 combo edge

Great knife ,hope crkt do not increase the price.Mine was was agift from my grandson .,complete with my regimental number .It is treasured and my favorite EDC .

After reading this thread I order one and got it today. As others have noted this is definitely a cool knife.

Easy open, but one of my real pet peeves are knives that are hard to close. This knife delivers both opening and closing.

Also what a great clip, deep pocket. Why can't other knife makers get it that most of us want to carry knives with a deep pocket clip.

Hard to believe this knife is under $20.
