Does anyone have any experience with the CRKT Prowler? Also, how does AUS 6M compare to 440?

Welcome to the forums! Ihave a Prowler that I like very much; heavy duty design that is still carry-able. the blade has plenty of belly and a full flat grind to make it a good slicer, yet thick enough to withstand hard use. I like the LAWKS feature. Finally, aesthetically I think it is a pretty cool design. AUS 6 is fine with me as is relatively easy to sharpen.

The Prowler is one solid knife. LAWKS is one of my favorite innovations as far as liner locks go, so I like this one. A decent belly and a sharp edge, not to mention the fact that it is as solid as a brick. I would recommend it.

Thanks for the information and endorsement. The prowler is in the running to replace my Buck Crosslock as my EDC. I prefer to carry something that won't kill me to replace if I lose it.

nozh2002, I agree. So is the price, I would gather.

nuke_spook, the funny thing is, my friend just replaced his cross-lock with the CRKT prowler. Irony is a beautiful thing.

SC_Steel,

So how does your friend's Prowler compare to the Crosslock? Is he pleased or looking for something to replace the Prowler?

I really like my Prowler. Like others have mentioned the LAWKS system is excellent. It gives me a since of confidence that the lock want fail when I'm in the middle of a heavy-duty cutting. I highly recommend it. Especially for the price.

I will pry it from his cold, dead fingers. Is that an endorsement, or what? Haven't seen the crosslock lately....:D
