I have a few knives from CRKT, I really like them but only ONE of my knives is razor sharp. My CRKT My Tighe. The rest of them are "so so" and I've sent them to a knife sharpener to put a razor edge on them. At first he advised me against it. My knives are only as a third backup self defense weapon. I don't plan on using them for ANYTHING else, I have a CRKT K.I.S.S. for those roles.
My question to the forum is that why does CRKT make their knives "dull" or not holding a razor edge? Should I put a razor edge on all my knives, minus my duty knife, since I only have them for self-defense purposes? It just annoys me that I spent $80 dollars for a knife that can't shave the hair of my arm. All benchmades were razor sharp out of the package.
