I recently acquired a "cute" Mirage from CRKT, and was wondering if they do like Spyderco and BenchMade, resharpen and refurbish their knives? I'd also like to get a new pocket clip.

Thanks for any info.

That's a good question I got an M-16 that could use some refurbishing. i'll have to email them and ask.

As for the pocket clip, You'd be better off just getting, or making a sheath for your CRKT they have a hell of a time with those pocket clips. It has to be a design problem. Out of my 3 CRKT's only one of them still has the pocket clip & it needs to be tightened daily or It'll fall off.

None of my CRKTs seem to have that problem (and hopefully never do). I carry my M18 pretty much daily and it's never come loose. I did have to tighten the screws on my friend's KFF (the clip on her Mirage is fine), but it hasn't come loose since then and it's her EDC. Maybe I should double-check her knife to make sure she doesn't lose it. Loctite would help you out there.

As for CRKT, I don't know about their servicing plan(s), but would definitely like to know if you guys find out.

Actually mine is in pretty good shape mechanically, and the clip works fine. However, I was just looking ahead, since I often like to have my knives serviced by the company. Spyderco does a great job for a slight fee, and BenchMade is a very close second place.

Thanks for your comments. I hope someone can give me a definite answer--or maybe I should just email CRKT myself!!

I have a CRKT M-16 the first thing I did was remove their clip, and replace it with a BM clip, I had to redrill holes, now the knife rides much lower in my pocket.:) I also used a removable thread lock on the screws, something I recommend for all knives that break apart.
Just be careful not to get any on the pivot or bearings/washers.

The KFF is a strange piece where there's only very little thread in the liners. There's no threading on the Zytel scales and the scales doesn't grip on to the screws like the M16.
The M16 doesn't loosen that easily.
In any case, I used blue loctite and don't have to worry about it anymore.
