I can find very little about this knife. I am searching for gifts for ladies not normally interested in knife carry. I want the knife to be capeable of breaking off an attack, serve a functional purpose from time to time, and be so convenient to carry that it is not a bother for a non knife person, to have the knife with them at all times. The Russell Ringer looks interesting to me, as does the Alrt, but I think the ringer may do more damage. I realize the steel is junk, but I don't think it will be employed that often, and if it is...then we can consider Izula's or BK11's for next year.

Any thoughts on the ringer, Alrt, or other tools that fit the bill, and don't break the bank?

Thanks

I have the skinner version and it's not a bad little neck knife. Sharp enough and easy to sharpen with a ceramic rod. The finger holes are pretty big, so I wrapped mine with paracord for a more secure grip. And, as you said, it's not expensive.

That being said, I carry my Becker Necker BK11 a lot more often. But, I imagine it would be more difficult for a lady to carry it than the Ringer.
