Unable to handle a Kwaiken and owning a first production run Ripple (wont be a user) I am trying to determine if I want to get a new Ripple as they have made some changes to the grind and finish from what I can tell from the 1st production I have OR do I want to buy into the hype of the Kwaiken for double the price (titanium scaled) of the Ripple? I think they are somewhat fair of a comparison aside from price considering the size and the fact that they are bearing flippers. Does anyone have both to give me a comparison? The 1st production Ripple I have is centered, flips very smooth and the lockup is outstanding, if it wasn't a 1st production I would just turn it into a user which is my intent with the next purchase. Any comments on either model would be appreciated particularly the newer Ripple as all I can base my opinion on is the one I have and a Ripple 2 first production I used but found to be too small.

I'll tell ya the Ripple is smooooooth one of the easyest flippers I own,the clip is horrible and the blade steel is just ok:cool:

The ripple is a fun little knife to flip while you are relaxing, and its cheap. The Kwaiken is a lot of fun to flip too but is pricier. In my opinion the ripple is made of shit, it is a delicate little knife. I would buy another Kwaiken even though it has issues, i would never buy another ripple.

so it sounds like the kwaiken's reputation as being a pretty good knife is deserved. Cost isn't that much a factor here I just really like the design of each...long, lean, and sleek

I've handled both. I really feel the Kwaiken is just a better product. Loved the weight. Loved the feel. It's well built. And it's aesthetically very pleasing. Which is a big thing for me. The Ripple looks like something H. R. Giger designed. Which, don't get me wrong, can look really cool but isn't for me.

Keep in mind, everything I just said is completely subjective. So you know...blah blah grain of salt get them both blah blah.

I have both, carry both. The Ripple is a much lighter knife than the Kwaiken, thinner, too. The Kwaiken's AUS-8 steel performs about the same as the Ripple's Acuto+. I find the Ripple easier to flip, but the Kwaiken fills my hand better because of it's larger size. The Ripple is much prettier that the Kwaiken. IMO.

I almost bought a new Kwaiken in order to get the VG10 blade, but mine was pimped by Alex Dietz, so I'll just hang onto it. :)

Lol. Yeah. Very understandable. Do you have some pictures?

Edit:
Do you think the blades could be swapped? Would make the pimped one even more awesome and you'll still have 2 knives one of them could be sold at a discount.

Well since this popped up....i did get a kwaiken and it is perfect...centered outstanding lockup and flips great! Honestly this is the first knife to really exceed my expectations, not sure how much that plays into my hesitation due to Bokers somewhat mixed reputation. That said i fully plan on getting another...it is far more robust than i anticipated and am now onn the hype train.
