Here is a copy of the sales slick that was handed out at the Blade Show in June, quoting an October release date.

I wish I had taken a picture of the Prototype at the CRK&T booth at the Blade Show in June, but I was so busy drooling and trying to buy it that it completely slipped my mind.

It was a Zigzag patterned Number Seven. This one from Steve Ryan's catalog is a twin to the Prototype.

Hmmm.... I really like the Model 7 but:

1. Is CRKT's is going to be made of AUS-6?

2. Has CRKT licensed the hole from Spyderco?

3. Is the blade polished or (ick!) bead-blasted? My AUS-6 Urban Shark is a POS (lock comes loose in the hand), and it RUSTS! I attribute this to the bead blasting, since I've had polished AUS-6 blades in the past that did not rust at all.

I'm about 99% of the way to taking the plunge and ordering a Ryan Warlock fixed blade, but I'm on the fence about which folder of his really puts the bubbles in my p*ss... I like models 4, 5, and 7 the most, so I guess I'll have to get the CRKT 7 to play with for awhile and help me decide. I've been leaning towards the custom 7 anyway, even though it is the most "normal" looking of the bunch.

It looks like CRKT's version will be AUS-6, with a thumbstud instead of a hole, and yes beadblasted. It also appears that it is significantly smaller, unless CRKT offers it in a larger size as well.

Following is a link with a photo of the CRKT version, and some specs. I don't know if these are final specs.
