I acquired the medium sized model in a recent trade and wanted to make some comments on it. It is very similar in size to the small Sebenza and if I remember correctly uses the same alloy of titanium (6AL4V). The 2.75 in blade is of ATS-34 and came razor sharp. When in hand, the S-2 is really a comfortable knife. The machining and the curve of the handle gives you a really strong hold. The pocket clip is different than the Sebenza in that the S-2 is tip down. The clip looks bead blasted and is really too small for a knife this size IMO. As far as carrying goes, the knife also peaks out of your pocket a little too much. I would have rather had it be tip up and had a more concealed and safe carry. The lock up is very tight and there is no movement in any direction. The only gripe that I have had with the locking bar is that it protrudes a bit much.Under a tight grip it might be possible get in the way and become disengaged. Overall, this knife is a good knife for the money (I believe they can be found for under a hundred bucks). As far as replacing the Sebenza, it doesn't quite make the cut. However, I will be carrying it for a time while my Sebbie is on it's way back to the factory.
Thanks,
Matt

Jazzman, I have a large and medium S-2 and like 'em. They were my first exposure to the frame lock. Both are decent knives. They did not seem to be too popular among our fellow forumites though. I am not sure why, maybe because the Benchmade Pinnacle came out around the same time.

I agree. You don't hear much mention. That's why I thought a review was in order. I do like the Pinnacle, but I think that I like the S-2 more. There is just something about the recurve of the pinnacle that turns me off. I also like the finish on the S-2 more than the Pinnacles rough bead blast. I have noticed that the finish on my Sebenza is more fine and feels better than the 750.
Just some thoughts,
MAtt

I have the small S-2, great little knife. It has possibly the best piece of ATS-34 I own. Man can I get that sucker sharp!

I have medium sized S2, the large one is discontinued about two (?) years ago but is still available on the market. I have found nothing wrong with mine, premium materials (ATS-34 blade, machined titanium handle), strong lockup (frame lock), modest but noble appearance, not people scarring. In my opinion it is very decent daily carry knife.

-AND-...as Steve mentioned.., boy they take and hold a nice edge!

Got my med. s-2 from southsummit ( took a whole 2 days to get here :) LOVE this knife...great lockup, sharp ats blade, great ergos, only the clip is lacking :(... what a STEAL at $25...and southsummit gets VERY high marks for FASTTTTT shipping !!!!!

I enjoy mine quite a lot. It is well made...well designed...very sharp...and attractive. If I didn't carry what I do (want to venture a guess as to the brand? ;) ), this might be on a short list for more dressy carry.

Carry my small BC S-2 almost every day.
Great little knife for the office!
