I happened accross this model on the web and was impressed with the features/price thiat it offered. Especially the 2-3/8 inch model. Does anybody have any experience or opinions with this one? Until a few minutes ago I had my heart set on a Camillus 154CM EDC, but now I'm not so sure.....

I'm especially curious about the dimensions. Not based on any real information, I just get the impression from the pictures that this thing might be a little bulkier than I prefer. Should be pretty light though.

There are currently two sizes in production. I have never handled the Camillus EDC, so I can offer no opinion there.

The S-2 is actually thinner than many other knives its size. I find it comfortable to use and hold. I ended up deciding to keep my small S-2 (traded the medium S-2).

In my opinion, the clip is poorly designed, so I removed the clip. The blade shape is very "point" which makes it great for cutting into fruit and the like, and precise point control tasks. It is a drop point blade, but it acts more like an upswept wharncliffe. So the blade shape is very different from the EDC.

Unlike most of their other products, CRKT saw fit to provide a decent finish on the steel blade, as opposed to their ubiquitous bead blast.

Overall, a nice knife and a good value.

Thanks for the info. That picture is exactly the kind of thing I was looking for. Still don't know what to get, maybe I'll give in and buy both!

I bought 3 S-2's from southsummit.com for $25/knife. I believe they are beefier built than the EDC, probably not as ergo, or pretty (subjective I know) But will definately out-last ME two times over!. VERY good deal at 25 bones, perhaps the best bang for the buck out there right now. The only thing with the larger ones, mine doesnt like to keep the blade closed very good unless I tighten it a bit tight, other than that it is absolutely rock solid, smooth, looks great and zero blade play in any direction just like my other 2 CRKT S-2's.. The small ones are nearly PERFECT though! They hold the blade in the handle nicely and are still easy to operate one handed even as small as they are. Buy a couple, you won't regret it. The only thing I don't like is how the lockbar grinds vertically on the tang when gripped really hard.no biggy though I guess, & I suspect a lot of framelocks do this. Great knife, great value. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED by Sticky.

I have a medium CRKT S-2 that I will give to anyone who cares to pay for the shipping.
It's in mint condition except one of the clip screws is missing.

I got my S-2 about 4 days ago, and the first thing I did was take the clip off of it and drop it in my pocket. This worked fine for the past 4 days, but last night, while I was at work, my S-2 somehow opened up in my pocket and put a nice 2" fairly deep gash into my leg. So, it's gotta go.

Anyone wants it for $6.90 shipping via USPS Priority Mail w/ delivery confirmation, just let me know.
