Ok so I got this blade in a few days ago. I wanted this blade because I always appreciated James Williams' designs with CRKT and liked my hissatsu so much that I figured I'd spend some more and get the upgraded version to James' design. I was pumped to see that this knife was made in O1 tool steel and was a 1/4" thick! I mean holy overbuilt batman. I ordered the knife off of ebay for $139 and I also scored an extra factory sheath for it off of ebay (guess the guy didn't want the factory sheath) for $30. I wasn't looking for an extra sheath but when I saw that I thought well heck I can have an extra sheath to attach to my plate carrier.

Here's the knife, sheath, and display box (which I think is a waste):

btw, the sheath is amazing. It's kydex and has adjustable draw tension/retention.

It's a very slick knife with extremely even grinds, very impressed:

The handle is epoxy resin embedded nylon over ray skin. It's done very well and gives you great purchase on the knife:

As with any knife I get. I use it almost exclusively for a week just to get a good feel for my knife. This one came with me to drill this past weekend, only cut some zip ties here and there and some nylon webbing. At home it helped make a fire and also make a couple dinners. I know it's a fighting knife but James said he made this one capable of battoning and cooking etc. so I figured some normal use (no I did not baton with it hahaha) wouldn't be bad for it. This O1 steel stains very quick! Faster than the 1095 I usually purchase. This blade patinas fast.

So far I really like this blade. It seems like a fantastic self-defense/fighting knife. Heck it's just fun to use and slices like a monster. I'll stab up some watermelons this week with it or something if I have time. I haven't seen many reviews on this knife so I thought I'd toss this up here for ya'll.

Very good looking knife, and the sheath indeed looks good (and not like a paddle).

A.L.,
Thank you, it is a great looking knife. I was impressed with the retention idea on the sheath. To be honest, the belt clip is off the knife. I just shove the sheath IWB and carry that way. It's easier.
