What are the differences, if any, between the CRKT Scarab and the Montu? The Scarab is dicontinued but has the same product number as the Montu, CR1140. Is the Montu just a re-introduction of the same knife with a different name, or where there some changes?

Looks to me like it's the same knife with a new name. Same Outburst opening and has the LAWKS® lock.

I think that's what I'm also seeing here. Too bad that I didn't see that sooner as my Scarab is about to have a twin :o That's what I get for buying a knife before I've had my coffee. Oh well, I like the Scarab (and Horus) a lot so its not all that bad. Those colored scales grow on you and look sort of friendly. Overall I find them to be well made knives. Same with my Anubis and Pharaoh. I was trying to end up with all of the CRKT Elishewitz Egyptian themed knives and with the Montu, although the same as the Scarab, I will have that.

If it has some tweaks that would be nice so I'm not kicking myself as hard.

Exact same knife. It was renamed because of the Microtech with the same name. ;)

Makes me wonder how long the Kershaw Barrage will go by that name, considering Benchmade had theirs first.:)

Ah, that makes sense. As a small concillation at least it will say "Montu" on the blade

When I bought it off eBay I was thinking that it was either smaller than the Scarab or basically a Horus with blue scales. Note to self: do not buy knives when early morning fuzzy headed ;) Well, this way I can carry one with clip and one without. Yeah, that's it...

I guess I'll put away the Scarab and use the Montu.

Dumb, dumb, dumb.

The seller turned out to be out of stock of the Montu so I ended up with a full refund. Happy dance.

This afternoon I took the refund from the Montu and put it into another CRKT, a Mini My Tighe. Not a bad knife that was only a short drive away.
