Has anyone else noticed that these are the exact same designs, a side from the lockup? The lockup is revolutionary but design wise it seems like a ripoff....

Front choil is different and slightly more belly in the bestech. Handle is nearly identical aside from a double lanyard hole....

And the hump on the top of the handle.
And the blade stops.
And the lack of choil on the BT.
And the additional contouring on the BT.
And the pocket clip.
And the shape of the flipper tab.
But, yes, nearly the same design, functionally.

Both knives feature a choil, indeed nearly ALL knives feature a choil, it's simply a question of whether or not the choil has a notch and if so how large. The "choil" is the end of the edge where it approaches the handle. That is all that it is. Once you go beyond the edge or the notch filed/cut into the choil, you are no longer discussing the choil but some other part of the knife.

I stand corrected. I always think of a choil as a useable finger choil. I’ll blame it on my Spyderco obsession.

Also, the screw placement is different.
