Hey gang,

Gotta say the Ken Onion "Shenanigan" work/utility folders for 2011 over at CRKT don't look half bad at a $60 price point. Seems they're un-assisted liner-locks (ok, CRKT, with Teflon bushings) - I'm assuming to keep the price down. Liner locks historically don't offend me.

I DO like the grip shape, blade-handle ratio and modified drop point blade shape. Offered in AUS-8 and one-sided stainless liners they say to keep weight down. All 3.25" blades and an aluminum-frame model as well.

I'm chomping at the bit to find out if these bring the "high value". Hope they're durable and have a least a little meat. Still, a weight-nervous utility...

Take care

I think you'll be surprised at how big a bang for the buck you'll get on this one . It flips pretty good too.

One of the great things about this place is how the designer of a knife being talked about showing up and commenting isn't unheard of. :)

You're right about that. Makes this place much more 'homey', if you know what I mean.

Yet again, I HAVE to buy another knife. It's all your fault, Mr. Onion . . . and Sal . . . and Darryl . . . and Ethan . . . and Jeff . . . and . . .

I am not responsible for the shambles that is my family budget right now. ;)

CRKT can be gimmicky and their steel sucks, but they put out a good design every once in a while. I really like my Tiny Tighe Breaker, for an example. With an innovative designer like KO, I'm sure they'll have a few good blades.

I am looking forward to the new Knives from Flavio Ikamo/CRTK they look interesting. Especially the little key chain blade.

That used to be my opinion too, but it looks like they're starting to improve their steel in a lot of their higher end offerings. It will be interesting to see where they stand in a few years, especially with the designers they've been working with in the past few. ;)

I thought it was going to be in the acuto +... or atleast thats what it says on gpknives website

Looks good, but I think I'd rather have a new Blur for the money. If it turns out to have IKBS though it would be pretty compelling.

No offense to the Master of course. I'm down for anything KO.

Another to add to my CRKT line up. I just purchased two Folts minimalist in both the bowie and wharncliff style. They are really great little knives. CRKT is starting to make some nice knives.

I just ordered the Shenanigan, but can't find a photo that shows the clip. Does anyone know if this has the "deep-carry" type of clip?

Thought about ordering the Aluminum handled one, then decided against it... I just can't bring myself to buy CRKT products...

I've bought a few in the last year or so. Good stuff & the price is right. They're headed in the right direction. I like their tools too.

I'm sorry to hear that. Have you taken a look at the Ripple and Ripple2 knives? I owned both, and modestly modified/personalized/customized them. Sweet knives, IMHO.
