Has anyone used one of these sharpeners? Any opinions or reviews? Best place to buy on line? Thank you.

i would get a spyderco sharpmaker myself, might be a little higher, but would work much better overall, imho.

as far as on line buying try www.newgraham.com

The sharpmaker requires YOU to hold the angle correctly, and I am NOT any good doing so... I was better with a bench stone...
I was thinking of getting a Slide Sharp myself, but now that I convex most of my 'users', I do not have nearly the need... Not to mention I have an EdgePro Pro model for those time when I just have to get a non convex edge 'perfect'...

all ya have to do is push straight down, its simple, anyone could do it, heck my wife uses mine on kitchen knives and she hasnt a clue as to sharpening, dare i say "idiot proof" lol.

Yeah, but if the CRKT Slide Sharp works, it would be even more "wife-proof", which is what I'm hoping for... I have the Spyderco Sharpmaker, and the video really helps... and I've sharpend up a bunch of knives with it, but I have not tried it with scissors, nail-clippers, etc yet (which would be a plus over the CRKT Slide Sharp)..

But I'm really looking for a 'wife-proof' knife sharpener to keep in the kitchen, and I hope the CRKT Slide sharp is the just the thing for her... I removed the steel rod that came with the kitchen knifes after watching my wife wack the crap out of the kitchen knives with it !!

So, I'm also looking for any feedback on the CRKT Slide Sharp... I'll probably buy one to try out anyways...
